Squash racquet basics

Wilson N-RageMany people wonder what a squash racquet looks like. Well for starters, it is longer than a racquetball racquet-in fact, it is about as long as a tennis racquet. The head of the squash racquet is narrower in the width dimension and longer in the length dimension compared to a racquetball racquet.

The old racquets used to be made of wood and the head of the racquet was no larger than the diameter of a large cantaloupe. Then in the '80s, many manufacturers began making their racquets out of lightweight metal alloys to increase the power and feel of the racquet. This change also brought about a larger head diameter which increased the "sweet spot", and thus, afforded the player with greater ball accuracy.

Wilson tennis shoes - a good choice

Our Wilson Torque indoor court shoe can be worn in place of standard Wilson tennis shoes. The Torque provides much of the same qualities as can be found in Wilson's tennis footwear such as durability, excellent feel, breathability, lightweight materials, and so on.

In addition, we carry the ladies version of the Torque for all you female tennis players in white and red. It is sure to be one of the most stylish shoes on the tennis court.

Sport eyewear - improve your game

If you are looking for sport eyewear to help you improve your squash game, then PureSquash is the place for you. We carry eyewear made by Wilson, Rudy Project, and Head. Wearing eyewear is an integral part of the game. Many novice and intermediate players do not think they need to wear sport eyewear, but nothing could be farther from the truth.

Wearing protective sport eyewear is essential to avoiding serious injury. Beginning-level players are still developing their court and racquet awareness, and as such, it is not uncommon for a collision to occur between a racquet and someone's head. Aside from the typical head-racquet collision, one must also be careful not to let the ball hit them in the eye. This scenario can definitely be dangerous!
